PV is the Solution to Poverty Alleviation...

The PV program coaches participants through the Personal Viability Program, Game of Money and Game of Rich, all two week courses respectively.  The real test comes when participants are coached for one year to reach their family financial goals.  EDTC coaches participants to find and use their talents to meet these goals.  Coaching is weekly where we assess the progress of participants and their families, from here we give guidance on ways to improve their projects. 

 

Why is EDTC PV Programs so unique?

 

1.      The PV Program is home-grown in PNG.

2.      The PV Program focuses on Holistic Human Development, Entrepreneur Development, Economic Development and Business Development and it integrates work and learning.

3.      The PV Program has no entry level. The youngest is 8 years to 90 years old. We have trained people with absolutely no education to Doctor Degree holders. This holistic and inclusive concept is the reason why it is known as the “Grassroots University”.

4.      Lihiran Leaders have decided (2010) to build an international world-class “Grassroots University” on Lihir Island for Lihirans, Papua New Guineans, people of 3rd World countries and others.

5.      On Wednesday 12^th November 2008, Global University for Lifelong Learning (GULL) of California, United States of America & Entrepreneurial Development Training Centre Ltd (EDTC) of Papua New Guinea signed an MOU in the National Parliament of Papua New Guinea, to mark the beginning of a collaboration to reward & recognize PV members with a recognized University Degree for the attainment of an EDTC PV Grading.

6.      The signing of the GULL/EDTC MOU offers all people of the world an opportunity to obtain a recognized University Degree at an affordable cost. It is also unique because this University Degree is professional not academic and is recognized in perpetuity by the Government of Papua New Guinea and endorsed by other Governments, Leaders & Institutions. For example, five Ministries in Malaysia including the office of the Prime Minister have endorsed GULL. GULL has reached 33 countries by the end of 2010.

7.      EDTC Personal Viability (PV) is an alternate, affordable, inclusive & innovative education system. For EDTC this collaboration signifies recognition from an independent institution to reward & recognize those PV members who have achieved levels or standards of Good Character & Competence through the EDTC Personal Viability Grading process, which has 4 levels of Character & Competence including Provisional, Bronze, Silver & Gold PV Grading.
